Love a movie no one else seems to care or know about? Feel the need to express for one that already knows about? Watch a movie recently? Post here!
I'm always on the lookout for more movies to add to my ever-growing list of "to watch" movies.
Somewhat recently, I've noticed a strong tendency for people to overlook movies such as House of Sand and Fog (terrific drama), Blood Simple (Coen's start and one of their absolute best) and One Hour Photo (great thriller).
All are available at our own Calumet City Public Library! Be sure to hassle the young circulation clerks while in, it's part of the fun!

I usually like to think my top 25 or so is chock full of general good movies. Here it is copy and pasted straight from my Facebook page:
25. Batman Begins 24. Pirates of the Caribbean 23. The Road to Perdition 22. The Departed 21. Once Upon A Time in Mexico 20. Once Upon A Time in the West 19. Memento 18. Blade Runner 17. V for Vendetta 16. The Prestige 15. Gladiator 14. Akira 13. Mad Max 12. The Mask of Zorro 11. Goldeneye 10. Unforgiven 9. The Professional 8. Almost Famous 7. American Beauty 6. Reservoir Dogs 5. Sin City 4. The Dark Knight 3. Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 2. Pulp Fiction 1. Tombstone
Yes I know, The Dark Knight placed pretty high. But something about that movie just...clicks with me!

Damn, I have a lot to watch. I haven't compacted a list of favorites yet, it's too hard for me to decide.
Everyone on that list that I've seen I've liked, and the ones I haven't I have an interest in. I thought the first half of V For Vendetta was incredible, but it lost me a bit in the second half.
I still haven't seen Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, or a Godfather movie -_-
Do you have high hopes for Sin City 2? From the last time I checked, they got most of the original cast (which is usually a good sign), but I can't imagine it having a sequel.
First one was pretty good, though.

Yeah, DiCaprio was one of those actors I really hated until I actually watched a few of his movies. He can really act and his movie choices for the bast 8 years or so have been pretty good.
I really dug on Blood Diamond. Jennifer Connelly (One of my favorite actresses) is in it, along with Honsou.
Harry (and everyone else), I keep forgetting to mention this.. If you haven't checked out "The Lookout" yet I would highly suggest it. It seems right up your alley, and I loved it (and my taste=high quality).
DVD/Feature/Loo, bitches!

Holy crap that's messed up. I'm half tempted to go on a swearing rant to see what kind of moderation it chooses.

Anyone see Oldboy? That movie is fucked up beyond all reason.
It took awhile for the ending to sink in... But it is great. Amazing, continuous fight sequence that reminds me of beat em' up Genesis games (not a bad thing!!).

... So I finally slapped together a top ten list.
10. The Lookout 9. The Shawshank Redemption 8. Rebecca 7. Goodfellas 6. Forrest Gump 5. The Fellowship of the Ring 4. Vertigo 3. Dawn of the Dead (1978) 2. No Country For Old Men 1. What's Up, Doc?
Highly subject to change, of course.

One of those movies I really like that the critics just slammed was The Punisher with Tom Jane. I'm not too familiar with the Punisher character, but as a movie I enjoyed the brutal revenge story.

It takes A LOT to be one of my favorite movies. I'm sure I'm forgetting something so I'll modify this when I remember...
1. Rocky (I, II, Balboa(VI)) 2. The Dark Knight (Batman Begins) 3. Back to the Future (I, II, III) 4. Memento 5. The Prestige
