I just want to point out that you listed 9 movies in the top 4 spots. Let's do this Danny's way really quick. Ok. My top 10 movies of ALL TIME!!! 1. Rocky II 2. Rocky 3. Rocky Balboa 4. Rocky III 5. Rocky IV 6. Rocky V 7. The Dark Knight 8. Batman Begins 9. On The Waterfront 10. Back to the Future Part II Now ya see...that doesn't work. I'll slightly modify that for my actual list. But a whole movie series in a tops list can count as one spot. For future reference. My actual top ten (well 9 for now) list... 1. The Rocky series 2. Batman (The Nolan series...so far.) 3. On The Waterfront 4. The Back to the Future series 5. The Blues Brothers 6. Memento 7. Gran Torino 8. The Prestige 9. Spider-Man Aahh...much better. A tenth is coming, just not sure when.

Walter, you can't have 2 top 10's of the same subject. That would defeat the purpose of the top ten. If you can place the Rocky movies in a particular order that appear over other movies, than that is your top ten movies. Top 10's aren't suppose to be ascetically pleasing or incorporate a lot of different movies necessarily. A top ten is suppose to be.... the top ten. IT is clear that you can choose movies over others as you have shown us. Your number 10 is Back to the Future part II. I do not understand how this does not work. It is almost like you are scared that if you say it, that you can't take it back. Things change my friend, and though you may want to add more movies in the top 10 than 10, it can't happen. You could try having a top 10 movie franchises or something similar, but if it is top the top 10 movies, you can only have 10 movies. It's like a rule or something.

Just saw Taken tonight. Great movie. 3.2/4 stars (I was caught between 3 and 3.5) Going in I wasn't really sure if Liam Neeson could pull off the modern day bada*s character, but he did very well. Something different for him than always playing the wise older guy. Liked it a lot. Highly recommended! I just saw it tonight. I liked it, too. Liam Neeson was definitely awesome. He was unstoppable! (I suspect he trained w/ chuck norris for this part! ) Character development was done fantastically b/c I wanted to smack the mother upside her head! She wins the award for worst parent ever. But I couldn't shake the feeling that it should've ended differently. I won't get too much into it b/c i don't know who's seen it (...although anyone who would've wanted to see it, probably has by now...and this isn't exactly the most active time of year for the forums). But tell me if you feel the same or if you are satisfied w/ the ending.

Maybe it should've ended a little sooner. What do you think should've been done differently? And @ Danny: I'll come back with a compromise later.

You're right when you say that it didn't really affect the movie as a positive or negative. Basically the movie was over when Liam Neeson took care of business. I get that that's really what it was about. And that's fine. Now, I'm not so cynical that I think every ending should always be devastating, but I think that if Liam could have done everything that he did and then fallen just short of his goal it would have been way more powerful. I guess there are plenty of movies that take that path though. Return to Paradise comes to mind. Well, at any rate, that's the direction my mind was heading in.

I've been meaning to do this for months, but I keep forgetting. The Top 25 has been updated again. Mainly because everytime I looked at this list, I knew some movie that I absolutely L O V E D was not on it, but I finally pin-pointed it back in July. Braveheart!
Quite possibly the greatest thing Mel Gibson has ever done, besides the Lethal Weapon series of course. How that man could star in every single scene of that movie, direct it, and win 5 Academy Awards is beyond me. Truly a great piece of cinematic history.
Subsequently, I knocked off Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Tis' still a great action flick, but not Top 25 worthy any more.
25. Batman Begins 24. Pirates of the Caribbean 23. The Road to Perdition 22. The Departed 21. Once Upon a Time in the West 20. Memento 19. Blade Runner 18. V for Vendetta 17. Children of Men 16. Gladiator 15. Akira 14. Mad Max 13. The Mask of Zorro 12. Goldeneye 11. Unforgiven 10. Braveheart 9. The Professional 8. Almost Famous 7. American Beauty 6. Reservoir Dogs 5. Sin City 4. The Dark Knight 3. Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 2. Pulp Fiction 1. Tombstone

So District 9 was surprisingly good! I suggest any sci-fi guys or gals out there to see it. And even if you're not huge on aliens or the science fiction genre in general it's still a good movie to see. The actor who plays the main character is an unkown but really really good. I give it 3/4 stars. (That's THREE OUT OF FOUR for you smartypants out there.)

Except for the one done by manofepictales. Don't let a good thread go to waste inferno, or Al Gore in the Internet Lords will smite you.
