Yeah...publicists post is like "really" off-base. I feel more like a filmmaker more than ever when I'm at some late night showing showing of an indie, foreign, or art house film by myself; equipped with trademark gray Drum Major hoodie and Chicago White Sox hat with the brim down low...
In all seriousness. A filmmaker watching a film in isolation allows him to critique, praise, and absorb the work of his cinematographic peers; and allows one to expand their skill without even needing to do any work. The filmmaking business is one big conundrum of monkey see, monkey do. So its best to watch closely at the brightest and smartest chimps with close adoration, so that when you finally decide to "do"...you make millions of $$$$$$$$!
(I jest...it's not about the money...its about sending...a message!)
^That one's for you Danny.

i do agree... u should watch a film alone to analize it more but he would still get distracted anyway by the other people...
oh and ur whole explanation describes the total opposite of what walter was going for when seeing that movie since he begged people all week to go see it with him and then was like fuck it.. i'll go by myslef finally.. which i do give him props though

Ok, first of all it's Inferno guys. ;D Anyway, it was just a little weird seeing it by myself becasue I've never done that before. And I didn't "beg" anyone to do anything. I'm probably going to see more films by myself now that I'm a part of the 5 Buck Club and can afford to. There have been a lot of movies in the past that I've skipped out on because no one else wanted to see them with me. That ain't happening anymore. Next I wanna go see Taken, followed by The International and then FanBoys.

Just saw Taken tonight. Great movie. 3.2/4 stars (I was caught between 3 and 3.5) Going in I wasn't really sure if Liam Neeson could pull off the modern day bada*s character, but he did very well. Something different for him than always playing the wise older guy.
Liked it a lot. Highly recommended!

What is 3.2/4? Does that mean three point two fourths? I hope it does, because would be great. Or does it mean three point two or four? I'm intrigued.

Ok I need your guys help on analzing the movie ending to Pleasentville. For those of you who haven't seen it or would like your memory refreshed on the ending fast forward to 6.25 on the video below and watch it. IT is a must see film for those who haven't seen it! Pay close attention to the final interaction with the wife and husband on the bench. Personally this whole end sequence is amazing. The music playing is a wonderful cover of Across the universe by Fionna Apple. This is one of my all time favorite scences from a movie. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEgbpHbNJIkfollow the link I couldnt figure out how to get the video to show up. Ever time I watch this movie I always go back to the ending and ask myself the same question... what is the true meaning that the director is trying to portray to the viewer from that final scence on the bence where the husband asks his wife what going to happen now? the wife replies "I don't know. Do you whats going to happen now? Husband says no I Don't" the camera turns away from him to the wife (brillent movement of the camera and angles) And when it goes back to the husband it is now the soda shop man who the wife sleeps with in the movie when she discovers this concept of change. he then replies "I guess I don't either." My perception of the ending is this : The director wants to reinforce his message of change in the movie, the word change in this movie demonstration that things in our society over time are going to change and that our world is far from perfect.. we can't stop the change from happening we just have to let it take its course... because change is reality ! In this case in the ending it shows the change of heart that the wife is having about her husband (H MAcy) . She discovers that she really doesnt love him and that she is in love with a entirely different kind of man .. soda shop man (jeff daniels) The idea of change in this scanerio works so perfectly since Divorce, cheating or leaving your husband for another man has unheard of in the 50's .. but its part of the change in society. Is that all the director is saying though? Does he just want to show both perspectives? OR really who does she end up with? Is he simply leaving you wanting more... Your thoughts, comments are most needed... ~Publicist~

Or is it 3.2 divided by four? ..... After further analysis, I now see that the slash was in fact most likely a typo. Apologies. Apologies all around.

..... After further analysis, I now see that the slash was in fact most likely a typo. Apologies. Apologies all around. Actually it wasn't a typo. 3.2/4 = 3.2 out of 4. I was pretty sure people got that since I used the same system in my Bond ratings.

Yet another update on my top ten movies. Of course subject to change soon. 1. Rocky (I, II, Balboa(VI)) 2. The Dark Knight (Batman Begins) 3. On the Waterfront 4. Back to the Future (I, II, II) 5. The Blues Brothers 6. Memento 7. Gran Torino 8. The Prestige 9. Spider-Man So as you can see, I almost have a top ten. Got a strong feeling The Prestige and Spider-Man will be leaving the list soon. I just threw Spider-Man on there for the 8th grader in me. However, I just got Gran Torino on dvd and loved it even more watching it with my Papa(grandpa) and my father(I know surprising right?). It is a GREAT film and there are certain things that identify directly with some aspects in my family. Instant classic. :-XSPOILER :-XIt actually shares some themes with I'm Still Here. :-XSPOILER

I was noticing that myself. But I figure everyone counts in the way that is most meaningful to them. Whoever said math is the universal language was completely mistaken.
