FOREWARNING: This is not a personal attack on cub fans. Many friends of mine are cubbies and this is purely business. A "Friendly debate" if you will. Ok so recently I've been pondering this question due to current events/arguments with many SOUTH SIDE cub fans. Why are cub fans so bitter about the sox winning the World Series in 2005? I keep hearing all these ridiculous comparisons that cub fans make about sox fans. I continually keep hearing White Sox fans think they've won as many titles as the New York Yankees. WTF people? WTF? Most sox fans are pessimists to begin with, at least compared to those cubbies who celebrate like they've won the pendant when they win 2 games in a row. If the Chicago cubs won a WS, not likely in the near future by the way, I would NEVER hear the end of it...NEVER! So what are you guys complaining about when sox fans point out a simple fact. We've won like 2 or 3 World Series in the last 100 years...you guys...ZIPPO! Don't be angry with a fact. My great, great, great grandfather wasn't a young child when my team last won the big one. I saw it LIVE! A feeling you cub fans will probably never have the pleasure of feeling.

This may seem slightly off color but no disrespect is meant. Think of it as a George Carlin esque observation. For some reason this came to me awhile back and I'll share the thought. More people have lived through the Holocaust than have seen the Cubs win the world series. Its weird when people say the holocaust didn't happen when there are survivors. But soon there will be nobody who has seen the Cubs win the world series and you could make the case that it never happened. Now Im not saying it didn't happen because it did (I love Chicago) but you would have much less proof than someone making the claim that the holocaust happened. Both are true and sad events (sorry too easy)

as a life long cub fan,
i simply live as though sox don't exist. maybe it's just my nonconfrontational manner, or my biased view.
i'll just say one thing. up here in wisconsin there are more than a few cub fans. but i do get a lot of, "i thought you said you were from the south side of chicago, how'd you end up as a cub fan"....to that i honestly reply that there are many a cub fan where i came from, (obviously)...now i have yet to hear of a sox fan on the north side.....

p.s. i have also vowed to never ever date anyone who isn't a cubs fan. it's just too much of a conflict of interest. p.s.s. yes, i have disappointed many a man with this promise.

You live as though the sox don't exist? Now that's just straight up denial!!! And it's no secret that there are much more Cub fans than sox fans. However, the "lovable losers" thing is the only reason there are so many outside of Chicago. One of these outsiders even said they are "America's Team". Are you serious??? If the Chicago cubs are America's team...well then we're in a whole lotta trouble.

Hmmmm I was wondering if they don't exist...... would that mean there playing with themselves when they would be playing with the sox? I mean they play with themselves every time they think there going anywhere but they always fire blanks...... I think i've said too much

Who's hating? I'm just making some observations. I'm pirates fan. But its not the Cubs that I dislike, its more the cub fans. Not all of them but alot of them.

Now I definitely dislike the cubs, but I don't really hate the team. I mean honestly a lot of good players have come from that organization. Ernie Banks, Ryan Sandburg, Sammy S...wait no. Well you got...Mark Grace! There you go. That's a smart man. He finally had enough and went over to the D-Backs and won a World Series. Plus you got...uh...ya got... Well that's about it. It's more stupid cub fans that tick me off the most. And no Julie you aren't one of them. You and your brother actually know the game of baseball. 60% of cubbies don't. I have no beef with youse guys...unless cubs are facing sox. Btw I LOVE the pic Harry!! Ha ha ha ha! ;D ;D ;D
