Goodness gracious I was missing out! I watched Pulp Fiction for the first time, and while I didn't think it was QUITE as good as everyone says it was damn entertaining... And Samuel L. Jackson is pure pwnage in it.
I also watched the two Kill Bills. The first one is already near the top of my list for action flicks... So entertaining.. Nothing like dozens of severed limbs to perk up a party (or a hot demented Asian Schoolgirl >_>)
I also watched From Dusk Till Dawn which was much better than I expected it to be.
I must watch Jackie Brown and Death Proof soon. No wonder he's so revered.

Except for Death Proof...I'm not sure what happened there, but yeah...definitely a weak spot on the resume. You have to watch it anyway though, just so you can see how a bad Tarantino movie, is still better than anything Uwe Boll will ever come out with (director of just about every horrendous video game to film adaptation to come out in the past 6 years). I DOUBLE DARE YA MOTHERFUCKA!!!!

I'm pretty sure Uwe Boll makes crap intentionally, since I think it's impossible for someone to fail that hard at making movies. House of the Dead is freaking hilarious.
But I possibly just want to have faith in humanity.
I will end up seeing Death Proof, since we have it at our wonderful CCPL. I'm actually looking forward to Planet Terror more, though, since I really liked the practically-zombie-movie that Rodriguez did (From Dust Till Dawn).
But yeah, Tarantino has been a lot of fun so far. Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill Vol. 1 are all amazing with probably the slight edge going to the latter. I liked Vol. 2, but it wasn't as jaw-dropping/adrenaline inducing as the first.
If nothing else, I'm hoping for the car chase in Death Proof to be badass.

So glad to read that you've gotten to see Pulp Fiction! One of the best movies out there. Quentin Tarantino is such an incredible, twisty talent. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up to you for getting started on the QT journey.

i'm gonna go against the grain here and say that deathproof was GREAT. it might just have been kurt russell though. he's just soooooooo AWESOME.
i as well have recently seen Pulp Fiction for the first time. it actually surpassed my expectations. i think simply focusing on the grotesque involving jules' transition throughout the film is seriously seriously incredible.
i know this is all tarantino here...but any wes anderson fans? he's probably my favorite director. thoughts?

Yeah Death Proof was not that cool...in fact it wasn't cool at all. It looked like it was gonna be cool, then I saw the movie and fell asleep at that 3rd or 4th scene where all the girls in the movie were talking about nothing for like 30 straight minutes. What made that scene even more annoying was that it was all done in one lllooooooooonnnggggg boring shot.

I thought Death Proof was very real.......Actually I think it was shot in one day. That includes the writing. Yep, one day. Very good film for being written and filmed/edited in one day. Really good.

........i consider it to be the most real depiction of four (three?) females conversing. spot on. and it was written by a man........ i like long shots. unlike others, it makes me pay attention instead of falling asleep.

hahahha kyle! tell him i say hi! but you should join him. it's a good watch! No can do ma'am. I don't subject myself to sub-par films. Being both a highly learned individual in both the realms of criticism and development of film; I can not find enjoyment in mediocre festivities like you yourself do (i.e. Steve Martin movies, RockNRolla, and the Chicago Flubs...I mean Cubs). One of these days however, you will come close to understanding the highly complex and intellectual proclivities that myself and my brothers instill (Brother Walter, and Brother Daniel). In this moment, your pupils will open as wide as the vast oceans that dress our blessed Earth, your mind will be set a blaze with a fire wilder than that which struck the sinners of Solomon and Gomorra from there wretched existence, and your breath will become as light and majestic as those which carried Noah and his arc to the New Promised Land. And after this moment has passed, you will collapse and shriek out at your life, knowing that your ignorance will never allow you to be as ordinate and as immaculate as myself, Brother Walter, Brother Daniel, or Sister Sarah. Your choice in poor cinema and Cubs idolatry will be your casket for a life of sin...as you wait for the reckoning, to reap your wretched soul. So it has been posted...and so it will come to past. ~As written in the book of Rabbi Ebeneezer Steve ....wow...I think my Jewish Studies class is really starting to get to me.
