One- Besides that fact that Zelda and Mario games are really good for the most part and that they are not going to stop being there, there needs to be a change. Everytime there is a poll or powerstanding even, the only games that ever seem to make the top of the list are Mario, Zelda, or a game that is on the other systems. I have no problem with MArio Zelda games, they're great, thats why they keep making them, but there needs to be more. It like going to a resturant and ordering the same thing to eat and drink every time. Sure its great and you can eat and drink alot of any time, but hell, you need someting different every now and then. Two-The Wii is shooting for making Video games accessable to all ages, which is great. Im fine with that. YOu say it makes great games like Mario, awsome. But whatis being sacraficed is depth and difficulty. For the casual gamer, too much depth or difficulty are huge turn offs. It why many people don't like RPG's cause in a way its like reading a book. This is not to say that there are not any games with Depth or difficulty, but on averageWii games have a gimic that can hold your attention only so long. ANd the difficulty is based on how well or poorly the gimic was done. Its kind of liek whatI was talking about why I loved Batman the Dark knight so much. It is a good use of the franchise but it is also a good movie on its own. Wii games have a hard time having both a great idea and a great game. Alot of the times they only have one and fail to implement both. So it not that the Wii can't make a deep difficult game, its just that most of them are dumbed down to attract more players or just not thought out long enough. Building off of a gimic instead of an idea. 3- WHen it comes to droughts, its kind of unfair when the systems have been only out for like a year (excluding the 360). You say that the Wii great launch titles but failed to bring anything to the table until third or forth course. But let's not forget are lonely friend the PS3. Almost everyone I talked too said that they weer going to get a PS3 for the games that were GOING to come out. Many people I know were waiting for GTA4 and MGS4. The PS3 was almost laughable when it came to great titles until a long period of time afterwards. So taking into consideration of time between the titles is tricky because its not necessarily due to the system but the developers. Also, I think its hard to judge just on the hits, the average games should be taken into consideration. 4- When the hell did the phrase "Hard core" gamer become so utterly lame? No really. I hate this saying almost as much as I hate the saying F-bomb ( Please don't argue F-bomb on this topic start a new one if you want Harry keep this about the Wii) Like being a "Hard core" gamer use to mean something. Though I guess today it means something as well. You are beyound lame. It is not the fact that what makes them a "Hard core" gamer lame but the fact that they call themselveas that. THey should just say I play games or alot of games. Calling yourself a "Hard core" gamer is like when people tell you they are humble. It should be reserved for being called that by other people not yourself. 5- Cledro I love you man but stop talking about Man the game. Start a new Topic about it. Or here I will. You make good points Danny, but not all games are easy or lack depth. Again, I have to go with Mario Galaxy which has vibrant and rich levels and excellent gameplay. Smash Bros also had an awesome story mode with a great story that didn't even need words to express. But then you have games like Wario Shake Em Up which you're just meant to have fun with. A game can be simplistic, but that doesn't necessary devalue how enjoyable it is.

Ok NIck if you listen errr read I said that all the systems have great games. That would include your favorite Mario Galaxy and brawl. Its not that the Wii can't make great games, all systems can, its that the average game lacks. The average Wii game lacks more then the avreage X-Staion 3 games.

Ah, nothing like the first debate of this young board!
Since I own both a Wii and a 360, I must say I far prefer my 360. Nintendo still churns out good games, but they are too pre-occupied with getting non-gamers involved. Besides, their internet system sucks. Really bad. It was one of the things that disappointed me in SSBB... It deserves to have good online play.
I still need to check out Umbrella Chronicles and No More Heroes, but the line-up is looking pretty skimpy. It's a good thing SMG, Trauma Center and SSBB were good.
That said, I'm not interested in many releases across any of the new systems. I own 3 games for the 360, but that's enough... For now (Call of Duty 4 owns, Halo 3 is pretty good and Eternal Sonata isn't a bad JRPG).

Oh, and Harry, it's great to see another GameFAQer! Nothing like wasting massive amounts of time pouring over idiocy.
I love it.
