As I am watching the oscars come near the end, I would like to hear your views about this years show. Hugh JAckson hosting? Heath Ledgers win? Dark Knight getting snubbed in other categories? etc.. etc..

I only watched bits and pieces. Rogen/Franco skit was funny (I thought first half of Pineapple Express was pretty hilarious, actually), Hugh Jackman was cool and his thing with Hathaway was entertaining.
I was disappointed Presto lost for best animated short, but the speech the guy gave who won made up for it ("Thank you pencil!")
But the biggest disappointment to me was Rourke not winning. It was bad enough that the Wrestler got snubbed from the BP nomination (and oscar) it deserved, but to see him beaten was nearly unbearable. And then Penn's political speech really WAS unbearable.
I was tentatively rooting for Slumdog, but it still pisses me off that none of the movies I liked better were even nominated (Dark Knight, Wrestler, In Bruges).
So it was okay, I guess, once I get over Rourke losing.

Yeah...I loved Will Smith's speech about action movies. True stuff. And I don't know wtf is up with Sean Penn. It's not that he's a bad actor...I guess...I don't like his face. Plus I was REALLY rooting for Rourke. Disappointment abounds.
