So I just watched noir for the time, and I thought it was most excellent. It started skipping for like the last 10 minutes unfortunately, but I really thought you guys really made it fly. What did you use for a steadicam? It almost seemed digital at times, and I thought it definitely added a lot of production value to the piece. I really the the effects used in the scene where Vegas and the truth were talking in black and white. I'm pumped to check out I'm still here. I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed the film! Not to happy that the last ten minutes froze up on you... Hopefully you were able to get it played on another system and witnessed the fabulous ending that happens in the film! As for the effects, the steadicam like effect was done by altering the smoothcam effect in Final Cut Pro 6. If you isolate individual sections of the footage, and place the steadicam effect, it does erractic changes that almost give it a Matrix like effect. It's a really cool trick I picked up purely by accident haha. Oh, and the "NOIR EFFECT", which is the black and white coloring we used for the beginning of the Truth fight sequence (and my butt whipping scene) is a combination of effects from Final Cut Pro and iMovie. Glad you liked it! Get a chance to watch any of the extras?

I have dabbled with the smooth cam effect, but usually I found when I used it, it made a noticeable warping/ghostingish effect that took away from it. It almost made it look like it was vibrating sometimes. When you were moving the camera around, did you have it on a tripod, or was it handheld? Either way, it was butta.
I have not had a chance to check the special feats., but I plan on checking them out soon. Is there a 'making of'?

A year later, and I've finally watched Noir over the weekend. How late am I?! Anyway, I must say I'm really proud of you guys! Everything was well-done. Harry's creepy/evil laugh as Vegas, pricelss! I get chills everytime. I can't wait for "I'm Still Here" to experience the premiere with all of you this time. Keep it up guys!

I sure did! & Don't worry about your creepy/evil laugh...its so you! ...but not . It really has been a while! I think the last time I saw you was when we sat next to eachother at graduation and harassed JJ in front of us haha. I've been doing alright, doing the school thing and trying to get through it. I was ACTUALLY suppose to show up to the NOIR premiere...i forgot why I couldn't make it though...probably some school commitement as always haha. How about you? How's the life of a rising film producer treating you?

How's the life of a rising film producer treating you? Its funny you mention that! I actually have this picture of us from graduation that the photographer took of us waiting in line together! My parents have it framed up somewhere in our living room haha! But yeah...life as a filmmaker is a mix of joy, depression, anger, excitement, disappointment, exhaustion, enlightenment, hardwork, and fun! Usually not all at once, but very close to each other. Often they rotate from day to day, or sometimes hour to hour...it's weird. But yeah...we love it haha! I better be seeing you at the I'M STILL HERE premier

Actually, we just take really obscure indie films made in Italy, and green screen ourselves in. It's much easier that way.

I'm such a slacker supporter! Haha, long time no see! (On the message forums anyway) We don't have copies of NOIR right now. There's a re-edited version coming out, but it won't be around anytime soon. You're much better off getting a copy of I'm Still Here while we still have those. The story is completely unrelated to anything with NOIR. So you're good to go!
